Trout Pond May 5th 2013

The sun was out and spring is in full swing so Mia and I hiked to 'Trout Pond' and we brought out canoe! what a great day. Trolling a grey ghost and pulling in Brook trout, couldn't have been better.

                                  

The best part was the peace and quiet, not a sound to be heard other than birds and chipmunks. Steve at Upper Valley Outfitters told me that smelt breed in the stream of this pond. My guess is that there are some big brookies down deep in there. Maybe we will catch a hog next time.

We finished the day with a steak & squash from a farm down the road and some fiddleheads from the backyard.
